Uniting with fans to achieve absolute perfection
Vocalists Lim Young-min, Kim Dong-hyun, Jeon Woong, Lee Dae-hwi and Park Woo-jin first came together in 2019 as AB6IX – a name designed to represent the absolute perfection they achieve when they unite with their loyal army of fans. Two years previously all members (bar Woong) had participated as individuals in the second season of talent contest "Produce 101", with Woo-jin and Dae-hwi briefly going on to perform together in boy band Wanna One and Dong-hyun and Young-min forming the duo MXM. Put together by management company Brand New Music, AB6IX made their TV debut on reality series "BrandNewBoys" before dropping their first single, "Hollywood". An EP titled "B: Complete" followed shortly after, as did as a showcase gig at Seoul’s Olympic Hall and five nominations at the M2 X Genie Awards, with victory coming in the "Next Generation Star" category. All-singing, all-dancing K-pop sensations
AB6IX wasted little time in hitting the road, announcing their first fan meeting tour just two months after releasing their debut single. Taking in Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei and Bangkok, the quintet rubbed shoulders with the devoted fan base that they pay tribute to in their name. Alongside all the meets and greets, Lim, Lee, Kim, Jeon and Park also showcased their musical talents on stage, performing all the highlights from their "B: Complete" debut EP, the majority of which they also co-wrote. The biggest cheers on the night went to Korean Top-40 single "Breathe", with tracks like "Shining Stars", "Dance for Two" and "Light Me Up" also receiving a rapturous response. AB6IX also gave their fans on the other side of the world the chance to enjoy their talents up close and personal when they joined the likes of Everglow, Verivery and Nu’est at the KCON events in both Los Angeles and New York.
